It's well docmented here in Club Cobra search my username and it will lead you to many of the trials and tribulations of a first time Cobra owner.
It's Contemporary, that says most of what you need to know. It was professionally built by Don Borders of Image Auto Works in Palm Desert in 1988 as a show car / test mule for his Contemporary Dealership in Palm Desert, CA.
It has been featured in Kit Kar at least twice. I have one of the feature articles in whch it ran the old Riverside Raceway ayt 161 mph. It features early Contemporary equipment / e-type suspension, ZF Brakes, polished aluminum everything. It has 21,000 on the chassis and top loader and 3200 on the 565 hp medium rise side oiler. The wheels are PSE 17's with Goodyear Super Car F-1's 275/40's in front and 315/35's in back. The tires have less than 1,000 miles on them.
The car is fast. Evil fast. It will smoke the tires in 3rd if you aren't careful. The HP to weight ratio is less than 4:1, close to that of a NASCAR Cup machine. If you are a first time Cobra owner my initial impression would be this isn't the car for you. At the very least I would insist we take off the dual mechanical Holley 660's in favor of a governed pair of 600's or a pair of 450's. That said it's well sorted machine and completely predictable at speed or unde throttle and has almost 20 years of crash free time on the road.

Just a FYI, im pretty sure it is almost impossible for an American to own property in Mexico. The property they would let you own you would not want.

It's about time I gave this a little bump. I still have the car and I'm still interested in letting it go to a good home.
I hate to point this out but had someone taken me up on my equity offer and sold the property and paid me off you would have actually taken about 3-5% off the price of the car based on the value of real estate in California since March. The real estate offer is still good, a $50k interest in your real property...
I'm still looking for an RS America and the values are comparable. I like the lightweight no frills concept, nylon door pulls, no stereo etc. Indeed I think the 964RS never made it to the US legally.
There are a couple of other 911's I'd consider but they are pretty off beat and hard to find, athough not particularly rare or valuable so I won't get too into which ones with the exception of maybe a 1989 911 Carrera Speedster...
You can tell from the ones I've mentioned what I might like, so if you have something interesting say hello.
