Thumbs up First Test Article - FFR Mk4 Cobra Replica

Check out the first test drive article of our Factory Five Racing Mk4 Cobra replica. We include a YouTube Video in the article that was shot at the Factory Five Racing HB Cruise-In 2012. Also, the book I wrote about this car that Dad and I constructed should now be in bookstores, in addition to on Amazon and Barnes & Noble dot com. The name of the book is: "How To Build Cobra Kit Cars + Buying Used." Enjoy! Redline Review Article Detail

Amazon sent me an email saying this wouldn't be available till September - I cancelled my order - it had been on backorder since last May.

Any idea of what the issue is? Is it available or not.

Paul

Worked for me now, very cool. That engine sounded sweet. What a great project to do with your dad. Cheers.

Paul,

I received my copies of the book earlier this week, so I assumed that they would start being available in bookstores. They are supposed to be in stores and available from Amazon and B&N dot com this month. I won't be able to look into it until Monday. If you want to buy a copy from me, I'll sign your copy and send it to you.

On behalf of the publisher, CarTech Books, I apologize for the delay. The book did turn out really good. Do let me know, if you'd like me to send you a copy. Best, Brian

Hi Paul,

I just found out from my publisher, CarTech Books, how Amazon handles distribution of new books. Here's the response from one of CarTech's sales/marketing gurus:

"This is not unusual behavior for Amazon. They often use the first 4-6 weeks of a books shelf life to determine at what level they would like to inventory the product. Their early conservative order fill estimates are based on how long they anticipate it will take for them to order and receive the book from us or a distributor and fill the order themselves, or have a distributor drop ship for them. Quite often the book will arrive much sooner, depending how the order fills. I think they are so conservative to avoid customer service inquiries on ship dates.

Usually, after 4-6 weeks, they have a good idea how many they think will sell and enter values into their warehouse system for stocking. At that point you will see "In Stock" as the status."

I hope that information helps. My nephew also ordered the book in May from Amazon. He received a note indicating he'd receive the shipment on August 27. I would imagine that he'll receive it a bit sooner than that, based on the information above.

All the best,

Brian
