Default Just love the car

I have had so much fun in this car this year. I just love to roll down the road and listen to the pipes. This was definitely a good purchase for me. Nothing special, just a little FFR donor car, mostly. But I do love it.

Thanks for all the comments. It's just a little 302 FI, but it starts and runs extremely well.

As for the wheels, I am not sure, they say "Cobra" on the hub. I do not like the wheels, I prefer the old look, the team three type wheels with the spinners. Young men seem to like the wheels I have on it now. They came with the car. Also, the car is a little low for me. I have adjustable shocks and no idea how to adjust them.

I've built several cars through the years, but the Cobra is the funnest & nastiest,..... of them all.

Get all the driving in that you can do, before winter !

Great car !

They look like factory Mustang wheels. Somewhere around a 2003 Cobra Mustang maybe.

Actually, I looked, and the wheels have a coiled snake in the center. Yeah, could be Mustang wheels. I don't like the tires either, they're Kuhmo's. They're OK, but I really would like the billboards. I started out wanting a Max Wedge 63 Plymouth and look what I ended up with.

Well you own it now so feel free to get it exactly the way you want it. Richard Oben at North Racecars can help you with wheels if you decide to change to Halibrand style wheels in either 15" or 17". He has wheels with the correct backspacing for big tires. Your car looks like it sits pretty good just as it is, why do you want to raise it? If you stick with 17" wheels you have to be careful because if you raise it too much for ground clearance the gap between the fender opening and the tire gets too big and looks weird. With 15" wheels 4" front and 4½" rear ride height is recommended. The 17" guys go a bit less because of the gap but not more than about ¼ - ½".

Thanks for the contact on the wheels, I may do that. I would go to 15" wheels, I don't like these 17" jobs I have now. I am a little confused by wheel setback and etc, so maybe they can help me get thru that.

I agree, I prefer the 15" over 17". I like more tire that looks muscle and fills up the wheelwell with tire, not wheels. The 17" look Hot Rodded. To each it's own though.

I like my Team III Wheels, and the 5-lugs are covered up by a unique cover, so they look pretty close to a knock off wheel. The spinners have a coupler to spin on and a set-screw for attachment.

Here's their website-

ET Wheels by Team III Wheels

I had them do the half polish. You can order them plain, half or fully polished.
