Default New Member - looking for a Cobra

I've been lurking here for a couple months - thought I'd post up and say hello. I live in MN and am looking to move my car of over 15 years and step into the Cobra arena. I just posted my car for sale to make room and funds should the right Cobra come along. If anybody is interested in a trade for my '65 GT350 Clone (not your typical POS - this sucker is nice) let me know what you got. Any other leads on quality Cobras for sale would be appreciated. Small budget (40K), but big appetite! ERA and SPF are front runners. Prefer stripe-less cars and most colors are fine (no red or yellow).

Thanks,
Troy

Cool

Troy,

Start in the CLUB COBRA CLASSIFIEDS, then hop over to the Cobra Country Classifieds .

Make sure that you sit in a comparable car before hitting the buy button, especially with your size 12 shoes

Happy Hunting.

Thanks Bill! Yep, I already drove an ERA, so I know I can make those work!

Troy,

Nice to see you've joined the madness. Take your your time there are many. I looked at over20 before I bought mine. Your GT350 is really nice so you should not have any trouble moving it. Have you seen Kyle's SPF?

Roger

Roger,

Did I meet Kyle at the brewery tour? Did he have a blue/white SPF there with his young son in tow? If so, that IS a nice car (:
I keep getting hung up on the fact that Dave S. had such a hard time selling his nice SPF a few years ago in the low/mid 30s... Why on earth are the used SPFs so expensive that I find for sale (50s...)

Seems everything is high when we're ready! I've found many that don't care for Red on a Cobra. I like black as you know.

Don't overlook Backdraft. I "shopped" for 44 years and bought my Backdraft sight unseen.
No regrets, either!

Default Possible option?

Perhaps this may work out for both you and the vendor.

PhotoPost Classifieds - ERA 427 Cobra - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds

FWIW - I have no foot in either camp.

I waited a long time to get the right car, but I always knew that I wanted an ERA. There are a lot of great builders, but ERA was right for me. They seem to really nail the stance correctly, and it is very important that a car sits just right. ERAs have that low, fat menacing stance just like a real Cobra. They went to painstaking details to be dead-on accurate. Pete, the GM of ERA, had a real 427 for years, so that car was used for details, but they also did something else interesting. Since each car was handmade (English wheels, etc.) Pete sought out the best looking real Cobra he could find. When he found it, they used that car to get every angle, curve, and detail just like it.

I also wanted a Street 427...the way they would have come from the dealer in the 60's...no rollbar, no stripes, no side pipes, no speed jacks. If you have any questions about my car, you can PM me anytime.

427 street - your car is awesome! I would love a street car with undercar exhaust. I'm having difficulty know wondering about my comfort in an ERA (or any other Cobra for that matter). I need to look into sitting in a few later SPFs to see if there is more foot room and stuff. When I drive my Mustang, I usually slip my foot UNDER the clutch for cruising, but no such option with the floor mounted pedals. I am doubting that there would be enough room to do this in an SPF, but I don't know.... Are the SPFs with the dropped foot boxes larger/wider than the ERAs? I am feeling very tight in my buddy's ERA (pre 741).
