Why is this site down so much?!?
Seems like nearly every day there are periods where the site i either completely down, partially down or really slow...

I have been fighting issues over the last two weeks and have spent many hours working on it. This morning something different. Yay.

Today, it has been down periodically. Frequently, it is non-responsive. Once I let it "spin" and an error finally came back stating a memory problem on the server. Those messages are not reliable, though, so maybe one of the moderators can answer the question better.

Thanks... yes, usually those errors add no intelligence to the debug process.
The intention is appreciated, but it is not necessary to submit error messages when they occur.
Trust me, we are the first to know when there is a server issue.

Brent, Ron, and the other behind the scene folks: I think I can speak for the majority of us that frequent the site.

This goes without saying. But I'll quote it anyway. ;-)
What was/is the issue? Seems fixed...?

In this case PHP and SQL errors and issues pertaining to the compiling of both when the new patches were installed.

Sounds fun. Did you have to restore everything or rollback pre patching?

Not me, Brent, I'm just the Global Moderator on the sister site to this one, clubhotrod.com
All I know is that Brent spent the better part of the last ten days reconfiguring and repairing the server and it's software. You guys on the outside just have no idea the amount of time and energy that really goes into it.

You all got this all wrong!
Brent only has one hamster in the wheel and last month it get prego. So every-once-in-a-while she slows down.
Just a bit of humor.

Somehow ironic that a site dedicated to Shelby Cobras would have a performance problem, no...!

Brent has a small block on this - too much intake for the CID.
