Re-invention
One of the true beauties of a replica Cobra is their ability to be changed to suit you wants.
A couple of days after I bought my car back in 2004, a friend and I went to the Corvette swap meet in Pomona. I didn’t know he snapped a picture (the corvette guys were none too happy with our parking location!) This morning he emailed me the old pic. How cool, didn’t know it existed. So I just thought Id share the yesterday and today. Hard to believe it’s the same car.

Love the new look - how well does the new low line windscreen protect you from buffeting, stones and insects - would you use it on public roads without face and eye protection?

Boy, that is quite a change in the Cobras looks. As for the Corvette guys they used to really get ticked off here when they had to park next to the Cobras. In fact some of them would leave the shows as they claimed no one would look at their Corvettes if they had to be close to the Cobras. It wasn't so as they had some really nice Corvettes and I used to go and look at them and talk to the owners as did my friends who were at then shows.

Snake,
Thank you, I am really happy with it. The windscreen is my favorite part now. I had intended to swap back and forth with the full size windshield. But I like it so much, I doubt I’ll ever put the big one back on! From a wind perspective I think it’s better, more direct. It doesn’t produce the side and back buffeting (slapping) like the original screen does.
I do wear sunglasses around town and goggles on the freeway. Very comfortable that way
I did take a small rock right in the middle of the forehead going about 80mph one day. It reminded me of being shot with a BB gun as a kid! Not blood but boy did it sting!!
Ron,
Yea the Corvette guys get all butt hurt when you pull up heheheh!

Jason's modesty is vastly exceeded by what he's done underneath that newer exterior. You would have to research quite a few threads, but the real story is out there.

Thank you Pete.
Steve you are too kind! You should see my knew project!
Frankn-Jeep! 73 CJ5, full width J20 axles, 38" tires, full cage, T18 trans..
I am toying with the idea of putting the current Cobra motor in it as a way to motivate finishing my big motor! LOL

Looks really great! I like the single side, double brace roll bar. I've seen a couple other cars like that is really cool!

It sure does look good and you are right about these kit cars. Modifying them adds value instead of take it away. Corvette owners are no different in all our years attending car shows, drag racing, and any other event there will always be those that are jealous, envious, or just plain ignorant.
Once parked our car next to another Cobra at a show and overheard this guy criticize the fact that our car had the wrong engine. Oh well, no way we can please everyone.Funny thing is he did not want to see why I chose the 385 series engine,he would not leave with us.

Larry,
The forward bar ties into the frame rail. It makes a difference in the stiffness of the car. Car feels better on turn in and big bumps are noticeably less rattle inducing.

Hi Ron:
You think thats funny, I have noticed that too. But what really ticks me off is this local idiot who owns a Cobra, (don't even know the manufacturer) who comes to the local car shows and cruises and parks his car away from not only other Cobras, but so far that he can't associate with anybody. Perhaps e is shy?

Lou,
Would you believe this Cobra was built by an outfit that wants to start building them? I would park it clear off the show lot if it was mine. There are more pictures and some remarks about this outfit on our site.
