Transport Experiences
I had 2948 transported from the Arizona seller to Massachusetts and thought that I’d share some of the learning curve that I acquired with the forum. Found out early on that there are transport companies who own their own trucks and employ their own drivers. I also found that there are transport companies who own little more than their name and broker transport services from other companies and/or owner/operators. Rather than sounding like a company shill, I’ll just say that after researching the options, I had one of the three firms that Barrett-Jackson recommends transport 2948. Was much impressed: All four wheels were strapped down – no straps to a frame or suspension member; the car had two separate car covers over it; the driver placed a microfiber towel over the top of the door to block any sweat from his arm from reaching the paint while he backed 2948 off the transporter; there were microfiber towels and detailing spray in special pockets located throughout the trailer; the tailgate is lowered so that it rests flat on the tarmac and the lip from the tailgate to the tarmac was no more than an inch high. Hopefully, I’ve provided members with some questions they might want to ask the potential transporting firms before signing anything. Good luck
