Default New Rottler Herad CNC machine due in about 4 weeks

Our new Rottler 5 axis head CNC machine should be here in about 4 weeks. The software on this machine is state of the art and will let us program head ports much quicker than in the past. This along with the DMU-80 and our Newen CNC seat machine that we already have will help us just that much better heads with more programs to offer.
We will be working with engine builders and head porters to program their own ports and offer them better heads at a better price. We will be doing several new heads for the FE and other Ford engine s when this is up and running. It will take about a third the time to program and be running with this new machine.
We will also be able to dimple the intake ports which helps keep the air and fuel broke up for better atomization. This has shown about a 2 percent increase on power on test engines and heads. I am sure it will affect more than other but a neat feature. The intake port will look a lot like a golf ball finish.
We will be doing cast iron and aluminum as needed by our customers. Should even be able to do some 6 cylinder and diesel heads with the longer range of this machine.
We will keep you up-dated on our new offerings as we get them done and tested.

Thanks, Keith Craft

Makes me wish I was just entering the job market reading about CNC machines. My son has worked in shops running CNC machines he was a natural having my shop to play and learn in. All my machines are hands on some have digital readouts. Retired a year ago lineworker (electrical utility) shop is for my hobbies and occasional small jobs.

Are the CNC machines coming down in price now that they are everywhere?

I would not say "come down in price" as much as they never seem to increase in price.

The company I worked for bought a Milacron machining center in 1980 and paid about $650k for it. They bought a new Makino 3 years ago and paid about the same price and both machines have the same physical capacity.
