Default Is it a real!

"Is it Real", is a question that I get asked almost every time I am out for a drive.

I know there are healthy discussions on this site about what constitutes a Real Cobra. Isn't the real question, is it an original Shelby Cobra or not? I feel the Shelby continuation Cobras are real Shelby Cobras, just not an original (1960s) Cobra. But, I also feel that other makes of Cobras are real Cobras. They just happen to be Superformance, Kirkham, ERA, etc and the many other makers of fine Cobras. So is the real question really whether it is a Cobra or not, but whether it is an original Shelby, Shelby or another make Cobra?

This is not a troll post and I am really only looking to gain a true understanding from current or past Cobra Owners. Please keep derogatory comments to yourself.

Thanks in advance.

Two (ok, two and a half) ways to respond to it if it's not an original CSX2000 or CSX3000 series car.

Sarcastic response: "You are looking at it right, so it must be real"

Realistic response: "It's a Superformance Cobra Replica, isn't it great"

Alternate Realistic response: "It's a (insert your cars manufacturer here) Cobra Reproduction, isn't it great"

Yes, people are simply wondering whether it's an original Cobra from the 1960s.

Unless you happen to own an original Cobra, the correct answer is: "No, it's a (insert brand name here) Cobra replica."

Ordinary people are not twisted up in knots over the semantic differences between "continuation series", "completion series", "replicas" or "kit cars" the way we are on this forum.

No...read the multitude of recent prior threads for opinions on this, most of which were closed because despite warnings, still went to hell in a handbasket Regardless of your professed innocence in just trying to understand (and I accept that at face value), I'm not going to let this start up again and have to keep tabs on it all day.
