Tire Warning for Colorado
Maybe beyond Colorado, but thought I would pass this warning from Consumer Reports along.
Colorado drivers unknowingly buying knockoff tires

Damn, and I just got a set in 255/60R15 and 295/50R15 for my Cobra. I guess I'll have to garage it for winter after all.

Assuming you're using original-style wheels, wouldn't knockoff tires be correct for the application?

Since 2008 the tire prices doubled, within 6 month. They stated the high price of oil is the reason.
Well, the high price oil is gone 5 years ago but the tire prices are still high.
There was a very small market for ultra cheap tires back then. Now more and more Chinese tire makers discover that the market has changed an people are not willing to pay these high prices.
Just cut the greed 20% back and everyone is happy ------- but NOOOOOOO.
Watch the gas prices in March!!

I love their cuisine, but I wouldn't buy a chinese carburettor let alone chinese tyres.

The biggest problem with the Chicom tires (at least IMHO) is the fact that when you do install a set, 30 minutes later you want to install some more.................

You get what you pay for; if you're lucky. If you go to Discount Tires and buy the cheapest thing they have, you're not getting much.
I just put new tires on the truck 2 days. Michelin LTX M/S2. Very expensive, about $1,100 out the door. But it's the best all around tire I'v ever used, and they last forever. I'll probably never have to buy tires for this truck again.
