Default 2,500 miles

I just finished 2,500 miles in my Cobra. I went from Miami to Houston and back. The trip was to the Pantera fun rally in the Houston area.

My Cobra has no top, so the heavy rain was interesting. The trip home was mostly dry. The only problem with the trip up was Louisiana, plus a slight drenching in Gainesville.

I have a Contemporary with a 428FE, a Toploader, and Goodyear Billboards. The Billboards shake at 35mph, and about 72mph. They only shake in the front, though. When I get a chance, I'm going to have them balanced to see if it makes a difference.

My ears are still ringing, and although I'm not sun burned very bad, I can still feel the heat.

I had several friends try to talk me out of buying a Cobra. They said the novelty would wear off, and the side pipes would get old after 30 minutes. If I didn't have to go back to work tomorrow, I'd be running around in the Cobra again. It never gets old.

That is awesome! Good for you and congratulations. All that without a top, without overdrive, with Billboards and a thirsty FE. That takes some serious stones and I'm glad you had a great time.

Even a bad weather day in a cobra is better than not having a cobra

Enjoy the car and keep some sunscreen in the door pocket! The noise from the side pipes keeps the deer away up here; I wonder if it has the same effect on the alligators in Florida

You guys know what I mean when I say I had a blast.

The guys at work think I'm crazy.

I'm going to spend some time cleaning my car, and doing some adjustments, and then I'm planning the next trip. The next one will be much shorter, maybe to Key West.

And I have plans to buy a top, a 5-speed, etc. But I'm going to enjoy the car in the meantime.

Sounds like a blast.

I really wanted to go to the Pantera fun run. Sounded like it would be a great event. Get any photos?

Great! I put 38,000 miles in 18 months on one of my cars. No top, no heater. Wear ear plugs. I'm almost deaf in my left ear now.

Have fun.
