If you're talking about the side emblems, those come with two posts on the back and are held on by spring steel nuts. It is also possible that the posts were cut off and they are mounted with double-sided tape. See if you can get to the inside of the fender where they're mounted. I believe these types of badges are all the same size and have posts in the same location so your 393 badges should mount in the same holes (or with double sided tape).

If glued on or taped, try dental floss between the badge and the paint.

It'll come right off after a few passes with the floss.

If no dental floss available try fishing line. Good luck

The fishing line hurt my fingers. I've tried Acetone and the badge popped right off. Then clean up with orange goof off.

I thought the badges referred to the body style not the engine?

Anybody know what type of tape is used to hold the new one on? Or is it glue?
Thanks

Use 3M molding tape, available at auto parts stores or body shop suppliers.

Just a word of caution about the acetone. I have "unintentionally" performed paint removal with acetone. Not sure, but poor ol' Rodney may have performed this procedure before he could afford paint on that pitiful aluminum bodied thing he owns

Lol. Ted, for some reason I was thinking emblems on chrome pentroofs, not a painted body. But yes, I did just pour it down the side of the KMP in its unpainted state.

Now you're gonna tell me I shouldnt be cleaning my paint with MEK?

Oh no Rodney. Far be it from me to tell anyone what products to clean their cars with. But...if you do decide to go with the MEK, be sure to post some pictures of the results so you can share your joy with the rest of us
