Emblems
Got these nice emblems from Finish Line. But like stenciling my Avons, I have mixed feelings about putting these on my brushed finish Kirkham. Also, my engine is a 482, and the only Ford part of it is the timing cover! Maybe I should just scotch tape them on and see how they look....
Any opinions?

Cut off the pins and install the emblems with 3M automotive double faced adhesive tape. If you don't like them, they are easily removed with a piece of fishing line.

I did the same thing... Bought emblems from finish line and then had second thoughts about putting them on.
So I had these guys quote me for some custom made emblems.

Go nuts. You're only limited by your imagination.
I opted for billet aluminium in the same style of design as the FORD 427 badge but with out any paint/colour. Also asked for the number to be changed to 487 (size of my engine), and had the kids names etched in place of the COBRA in the same type font.
They look like Kirkhams badges but customised for me.
Enjoy

So I stuck them on with painter's tape to check them out. My wife thought the nose emblem looked like someone's keychain. I had to agree with that. The side emblem looks pretty good, I think.

Maybe have the Cobra emblem stripped of color and just polish it up? Or do a gray-scale version with some silver, charcoal and black metallic paint?

Thanks.

Bare naked Cobra badges
I stripped the color off of a couple standard Cobra badges a few years back for a special project:
No need to "polish" them - they are already chrome plated. I would think that they would look pretty nice on a bare aluminum Cobra.

Jeff. Why must you always tease me with The "XD"?

So sorry, Rick but, thanks to you, and some the old photos you provided me, I was able to sort out some of these elusive details about my most favorite Cobra

What other reliable online vendors are there for these hood- and steering wheel emblems? Besides Finishline...
