Original Cobra found in river
Without giving away all the punchlines, the October issue of Muscle Machines has a cool article about CSX3184, a "river find" (as opposed to a "barn find"), and it's restoration process.
Anyone here familiar with this car?
Is the owner of CSX3184 on this forum?

The car was stolen and dumped in a river. Sat under water for over a year.
Here's a little about from the SAAC forum: CSX3184

I thought this was going to be a Kirkham body on a recovered chassis (not that there would be anything wrong with that...), but the owner had been buying panels from Shelby while Shelby was still operational. Also, bought Smiths gauges back in the 70's, collecting other parts.
Pure dedication. This guy earned the "NO FAKE" personalized license plate---despite how offensive that is to those of us that do own "fakes".

Yes I am on this forum and the story is pretty much complete as my memory serves me correct, the details are correct and about 95 % complete, some names were not put in at the request of people (friends) who helped in some way or another to help me complete the build. I have been a member of this club since just about the start, I don't post a lot as you can tell but I do follow many of the things that are posted. it was a long process and I still look for odd things but the pickens are really slim. The whole process only took 43 years maybe that's over the top but that's the way it happened.

I saw the article. The car turned out very well. Hats off to sjp for sticking with it and doing a great job.

That is an amazing story and you have saved another of the rare Cobras. Congratulations on sticking to it all those years and now maybe you can enjoy having it.
