Unfinished Cobra Project Identification...
Hello, I'm trying to ID a cobra kit I might buy and resurrect. Does anyone recognize the frame or body? It's a semi space frame design by the looks of it. Can anyone tell what type of suspension the frame was built for? Thanks for any help or insights!

Giving my thread a bump. So...no replies...did I stump the pros or did I post in the wrong category? Please reply if you have extensive replica ID knowledge, especially if you don't recognize the frame or what suspension components it was built for. If it is an unfinished scratch build, I'll be passing on it. But with the mandrel bends and the stamped metal bracket in the front, it looks like it was professionally constructed. Please give your 2 cents...hell a penny for your thoughts even.
Please re-direct me to the best category to post this if you think it would help with replies.
Thanks!

CV joints look Ford. Can you post a better photo of the hub/upright?
I've never seen a chassis like that before.

Strictly a "home design" chassis, looks like beautiful welds and mandrel bends, are you 100% certain that was meant for a Cobra body, as the dimensions and layout suggests something else, especially the front suspension and shock mounts/cross members.

Hey guys! Thanks for your feed back!
LHM...These are photos supplied by the seller. He received the project 5+ years ago from someone who owed his company money. It's been sitting a while as you can see. Not much info on the build. The seller said the frame was built for a T-Bird IRS and it currently as a 8.5 diff with axles but little else as far as suspension.
Bill...No way to know if the frame was being built to fit the cobra body that comes with it. The project is a 60 min drive away so I wanted to gather enough info to make it worth going to see. You're right that it looks like a nicely built frame...I've not seen anything like it either...a Bennett frame is the closest I've seen that's similar and its only vaguely similar.

I agree with Bill. A home design but looks well thought out by someone at sometime. Can't say I have seen anything similar before.
I would also be curious if that body will work on it and who's body that is?
Many variables on this one!

C'mon... getting that dog in to running/show condition would cost a potful of time and money. Even if it was given to you, it would end up costing you more than a known and established kit because of all the funky fabbing you'd have to do. Chances are, whoever is stupid enough to take on that project will abandon it in short order.

There was something very similar to that frame on another section on here. I think it was someone in Australia maybe a PACE . Look around at some of the other question about ID.

Kim, I don't think that is a home built frame. Look and some of those bent brackets in the front. I think I have seen one of those before. Look at some English built cars. I remember sending Barry McGill a picture of a frame several years ago that looked like that. It was from England.
