Need Some Advice Please
I know this may be a loaded question but I have to ask. I am looking at trading off my Supercharged 2012 SRT8 Challenger that has a good $20k upgrades on it. Make 604rwhp. I have a chance to get a real nice acuauto cobra. I love the look, sound and the style of the Cobra. I will attach a picture of the Challenger and a few of the Cobra.
Wife and friends say don't do it but I really want one..
What say you all?
Dollar for Dollar on current value a wash or ?

Lots of variables here. What engine does the Cobra have? What transmission? Etc..etc..etc.
If the Cobra just had a 302 and an auto, I wouldn't touch it. If it had some type of 427 and a good 5 speed, different story. That is just a place to start comparing.

I know that car, the original owner made a little seat for his daughter on the tunnel, that is what that little backrest is for between the seats. It is a nice car, it gets up and moves. It is a nice build, he put a lot of sound deafening and heat resistant material into the car.
The question is, how much are you going to get for the Challenger? Have you tested the market? There is nothing like driving a cobra.

None of my business - but how did tag and title kill the deal? I know a bunch of cobras titled and tagged in Georgia.

I'm interested too.
Or is tag and title a diplomatic way of saying wife and friends?

I realize its too late to answer your original question. But in case you find yourself interested in another Cobra, here are my thoughts. First, the Cobra is a fair weather car. A lot of the fun fades when it is very hot or very cold. Unless you are willing to get soaked in an unexpected thunderstorm, you can only take it out on days when you trust the weather forecast. Second, I suspect the Challenger will depreciate in value much quicker than the Cobra. Lastly, the Challenger has room for friends or a growing family.
One more thing, you'll draw a bigger crowd at the gas station in the Cobra.

Small world. Didnt now the Challenger owner posted here. In case anyone is still interesred he wanted to title the car in Georgia as a 67. Cheaper to register and so on. My car is titled in NY as a 2011Custom. No more getting away with an old title.

Once the car is titled, it's titled, Georgia has some very specific ways in dealing with kit cars, I suspect the OP wanted to circumnavigate his counties emissions rules and regulations....

No emissions here in columbus, only the counties surrounding atlanta. Steve, I have a backdraft and located in Columbus as well. Mine was titled in FL and all I had to do was go get a VIN verification from a police officer and then walked in and out of tag office in less than 15 minites. If you send me a private message I'll give you my contact info as there could be one for sale locally.

If you enjoy motorcycles and you plan on using the car as a toy then you will absolutely love it. If you like to use the Challenger anything other than a weekend toy then keep it and get a cobra as a second vehicle.

To your original question, the first issue is if you want a Cobra instead of the challenger. The second is if you should do a trade. Provided you do want a cobra, IMO, you'd come out ahead if you sold the challenger and then found the exact cobra you want. I think your challenger is worth more than that car, especially with a relatively mild small block.
