Interesting the car was owned here in Little Rock - curious who might have owned it. It has an unusual windshield washer bottle in it but pretty neat that the 428 survived all these years. Bet that lightweight 427 would have really knocked a few pounds off the weight.

It would appear that if one wanted a truly original Cobra they would have to replicate the shortcomings that Shelby's factory workers apparently included in the cars. I find it interesting that people who obsess over originality focus on what they think the car should have been rather than what it actually was.
BTW, beautiful looking car today.

That is a good article on that Cobra. It is surprising how many people don't know that Shelby used 428s in some of the original cars.

Very nice article that describes the history of the car and it's trials and tribulations. Now if only I had a spare million laying around somewhere......

As I have said many times before, if you could find 30 or so original Cobras and line them up, no two would be the same. Partly due to 40+ years of modifications but also due to how the guys at SAI put them together based on parts available, schedule etc.

So, I guess this Cobra started life as a street car? I see an ashtray, the street bumpers and I don't see a puke tank. The engine compartment is a mess! As Patrick (the OP) mentioned in another thread, the wiring is really rough. And I also noticed only one return spring on the carb? Nice LeMans carb BTW, but that wouldn't have been offered on a street version back then as far as I know.
Still a cool car!

I guess I should have just gone and looked at my copy of the Registry to answer several of my comments in my previous post!
