Lots of Cobra's in the Houston area. Hope they and their owners and famlies are all safe!

Blas,
A couple of the members on our site have family there and they haven't heard from them. Hopefully they are OK and will contact them today. Also see that Louisiana is having a lot of flooding too.

From the various news photos I am glad I live about 60 NW of Houston. Hobby
Airport with all the planes under water looks like an insurance nightmare. As I
type this, it is still raining. Prayers for those in the Houston area.

This is the latest news that was posted about 10 minutes ago. Doesn't sound good.

Yeah, it's not good. The Addicks reservoir is overflowing now and it sounds like the Barker is next. They both flow into the Buffalo Bayou. That area will likely be flooded for at least a month and maybe into October.
Thoughts and prayers for everyone affected by this, not only in Texas but everywhere.

Has anyone heard from Doug (767Jockey)? He lives in Houston and after over ten years building his Contemporary, it was very close to completion. It would be horrible if it was now flooded out.
I sent him an email, but I've had no reply yet.

Dallas,
That is really bad. Out here we are setting heat records and have 19 fires going. We could sure use some of that water. It seems that the weather goes from one extreme to the other any more. I hope that no more people lose their livbes in that mess.

Harvey went right over us here in St. Lucia when it was just a tropical storm. We didn't fare too badly other than flash flooding in some areas and minor wind damage. A couple of the other islands like Barbados and St. Vincent had more damage to structures and infrastructure than we did, but I could tell there was something particularly nasty about that system.
I feel for the people in the Houston area who bore the brunt of hurricane-level damage and flooding as that could just as easily have been us. Looks like the recovery road will be a long one too. All the best and stay safe over there.
