Default FE/underslung pedals/Master Cyl locations?

Hi guys. Really appreciate some sound advice here. I’m prepping for installing a FE into a Mk IV. It’s RHD so 1” less footwell room than LHD and every 1/8” is worth fighting for. Even the steering column has 2 UJs inside the footwell.
We have to run underslung pedals, so there is somewhere for your left foot.

So, master cylinders. Is anybody running them on the engine bay side of the footwell? Heard folklore that temp that side is just too high, so just would like to hear if that’s the real story.

NB The alternative is running them in the footwells but that makes everything even more compromised.
Morris likes this.

I know the hot rod guys talk very well of these pieces- link below. If I remember right, they are patterned after a Chevy Truck part from the '60's or '70's. I believe the part is upside down in the picture, and the pedals actually hang. The only thing I can caution you on, when I inquired about buying one and installing it in a T-bucket, is they said fiberglass isn't strong enough for it. It has to be mounted to something metal-they suggested framework of some sort. They said it'd fit in a Tbucket, which is very space confined also.

There's also a single pedal version.

As far as heat, I haven't heard that. But I'm new to Cobras, so take that with a grain of salt.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I'm running this setup, having the MBC and clutch sitting on the engine bay side of the footwell. No problems so far, but i covered the headers with DEI heat wrap and the MBC with a heat shield.
Sure you could not run floor mounted pedals?

Unfortunately we can’t run floor mounted as there’s no room for your left foot when cruising. I’m trying to run underfloor exhaust so space fir the downpipe takes a huge chunk out. If you think your footwells are tight, you should try RHD! It’s an inch narrower before you start.
Thanks for your input, but I mocked up the pendant system today at it will be okay, just. The 3 m cyl s are above the pedals and the reservoirs will be on the glovebox, out of sight, away from the worst heat.
However I believe you when you say you’ve had no fluid boiling problems. Could simply be a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, esp on forums.
