Thanks Glen, for posting this article. I had not seen this one. The die-cast model of Allen's car is HUGE not 1/18 scale, but 1/12. I'm still trying to work a deal, on one of his. While working on the race car years ago, he gave me one of the 1/43 scale one's which still resides in my Cobra "Shrine". I was also allowed to look though his many treasures from the Cobra era. Cheers Tom.

He comes every year to the Shelby American Collection (Boulder, CO) annual fundraiser.

Hmmm...... might have run into Allan Grant back in the day on McHenry Blvd Modesto. There was quite a rivalry between Modesto and Stockton amongst drag/street racers. To say these competitions were "less than friendly" would be putting it mildly.
I'll have to ask him if he comes to the Sept.1st museum fundraiser.

When I first met Alan I asked him about being high school friends with George Lucas, I told him I would be impressed if he could even get George on the phone. He pulled out his cell and hit speed dial. I told him I was impressed!

As well as articles that are well worth the read, Classic Driver is an excellent source of professional quality pictures of some really nice cars. Always worth a look from my perspective.
....and no I don't have shares/stock in Classic Driver
Cheers,
Glen
