Vintage Racing at VIR
Finally getting around to posting some pictures from last weekends SVRA event at VIR (Virginia International Raceway) Had the pleasure of meeting Jim (1795 around here) and helping him and his beautiful 289 Cobra stay running and on the track. A lot of heat exhaustion, a fair bit of rain, but overall just an amazing time at an amazing track surrounded by amazing people and cars. A big thanks to Jim for letting me hang out in the paddock with him. Hope you all enjoy some of the pics.
Best Regards,
Byron
Thanks for all your help and it was great getting to meet you. It makes it a lot easier having some help when you are a one man show to keep a car on the track. There was a pretty strong Shelby contingency there between the cobras and the GT40's.
When the season is done, Jim is upgrading his engine with a nasty set of Webers and a new spec cam to suit them. We will be applying a few new suspension mods for him so next year will be interesting!
