Damn Glen, A lot longer then mine I would say not that Cobras owner After studying this photo, it look's a lot like the front straightway spectator parking at Pacific Raceways in the late 60's-early 70's. If you turned around 180 degree's, you would be facing turn 1. The road in back is the entrance, to the track from Hwy 18, which makes a 90 degree left by the green tent, towards the pits. The trees look to be fir, or pine, which we have both here in the NW Any other ideas??? Cheers Tom.

Tom,
It's a boot, not a trunk. Get your terminology right, the body wouldn't fit in the boot, that is until the Saudi interrogators showed up and then it fit nicely.

C'mon, do I have to bump this along myself?
This one's from the filming of the James Garner film "Grand Prix"....
I hope they paid the cameraman enough
Cheers!

Even though "Grand Prix" is 1967 vintage, that cameraman must have been either dumb or canny (as in negotiated a good cash deal for being quite literally hog-tied to the nose of an open wheeler)
Cheers,
Glen

Obviously the shoot must have ben on the straight only. Could you imagine trying total corners with a cameraman tied to your hood and not only his weight throwing the balance off, but his body and that camera totally blocking your view? Pretty hard to find the apex with a camera in your face.

Where are the funny photos?
Looks like I have to recycle this one that I posted on a 'transporter' thread a few years ago.
It just looks so ridiculous....it's hard to imagine that anybody thought this would OK to do:
....and it's on a soft-top Landy!
Cheers,
Glen

I would be afraid to drive that rig after they get the car on top of it.

Wouldn't want a strong side wind either.
Speaking of side winds:
I'm being kind.
Would have been interesting to see Shelby's reaction. Driver's seat might have needed hosing out
Luckily, looks like minimal damage
It's Allen Grant's car. Daytona, 1965

Glen

Hi Tom,
If it had been today then he probably wouldn't have known, but the drivers were a lot more involved back then.
Of course, I don't know if the picture was taken unloading or loading.
Just for interest, I just looked up his result for the '65 Daytona 2000km, and he finished 6th.
Cheers,
Glen
