Default 289 FIA Nose Stripe Width

My car is at the painter. He needs to know the width of the transverse nose stripe. Couldn’t find anything here or on the ERA site. Help!!

Bill,

I scaled the stripe width on the following picture of 2323 as 4" (using the wheel diameter of 15" as the reference).

2323 has of course been repainted, so it isn't in original condition.

Cheers!
Glen

Hi Bill
Not sure if the information are based on the original specs, but this is what I've saved for reference.

Here's 2259 (the original, Sebring '64) with Dan at the wheel. Looks like 6" on this particular FIA

That diagram came straight out of the ERA manual, and was copied from the original (un-restored and un-repainted) car that we based our car on.

CSX2259 had a unique stripe as it also encroached on part of the hood panel, none of the other FIA Cobras shared that detail.

Here's the 'reworked' 2259 .....still a most impressive car. Stripe is as on the original 2289. Stripe is unique as CompClassics described.

My ERA 2033 had the same stripe/roundel design as posted above for the 2259 car. I loved it like that!!

Bill, this car belongs to Allen Bishop last time I heard. I think this is one of those things where you put tape on it and "if it looks right, it is right"...
