Is EM closed for now or what?
I haven't gotten any responses for a while now. No email and no body answers the phone. I have EM soft top and side curtain kits still in the boxes. I rounded the body ferule tops thinking I'd be having my arm on them. Replicas only use two ferules per door and my arm will be no where near. The flat toped EM ferules would be not as likely to just slide the ends of the soft top bow and side curtain off and into the painted surfaces.

I hate to tell you this but I think they've been out of business for awhile now.

I tried to contact them a few months ago, emails and phone calls... crickets. They’re either out of business or totally clueless, probably both.

I'd emailed EM for new VIN plates in early 2017. Got some initial informational replies, but my final email request to buy didn't get answered. I got around to reforwarding my email request in mid 2019. Got a prompt reply from Tom. We then had several ensuing email and phone conversations. They stamped out my new VIN plates and they arrived promptly.
Tom was a wealth of knowledge on the phone. They were very busy building cars, and as a small crew, they get busy quickly and may not attend to other communications as consistently as current builds.
Until we see the whites of the eyes confirming otherwise, it may just be their ongoing prior mode of operation with inconsistent communications. Perhaps keep trying periodically. The contact information on their website currently is what I used last year successfully.
Granted, COVID-19 may have thrown a temporary wrench in even their prior recent mode of operation, or worse, I don't know. However, when I spoke with Tom last year it didn't sound like he had any quit in him then! He was deep into several projects it sounded like at the time, fully mentally engaged in Cobras and working on customer needs full time.
We'll see, hope all is well with him/them. Best of luck with the ferrules Mike, whether you buy them from EM or other Cobra aftermarket.

So here I am with my self to blame. I should have left the ferules alone. Too much time on my idle hands. I rounded 7 of the eight ferules I had. making them look like the ones Finishline sells. The EM ferules have flat tops to not cause the bow ends to slide off and gauge the painted surfaces when mounting the bows and side curtains. EM ferules have blind bottom inside , actually carry the load so the soft top bow and the side curtain legs set on the bottom of the ferule and not on the polished top of the ferule I now see why they were left with flat heads. Does anybody know where flat headed door and top ferules for a fiberglass replica like EM used could be bought now?

Hey Mike,
Does the ferrule style you're looking for look like mine in the photo below? If so, maybe someone can offer thoughts on where to locate. If not, can you attach a photo of the one you didn't round off, or email me a photo and I'll post it.
A couple I've seen online (ex. Finishline, Acton Custom Enterprises, etc.) seem more rounded, however, you might check the Cobra Restorers ones to see if they are closer, looks like they may have flatter sides anyway. I tried Shell Valley but didn't find any there (maybe I just missed them). I wonder what ERA or Unique use (or source from). You could also check the FFR or Superformance sites to see (didn't see any on Cobra Valley). If not already, you may also try searching Cobra soft tops and see if it winds to the ferrules you're after.
Best of luck. Brent
(PS: Looking at the Acton ferrules on a larger screen, they look to be pretty low profile, and while hard to tell, they may have a flat around the rim. Those may check a couple of your boxes and be worth taking a look at.)

Calling Tommy-Boy Rot,
Tom, I don't suppose you could get Skip to fire up his CNC machine and make copies of Mike's one remaining good flat topped ferrule do you? In line after the Cobra badge holders of course!
Sounds like Mike could use 7 more. If they're similar enough to mine, I'd take 4 for my doors for future use, in case I decide to add my side windows to my soft top.
Just a thought. Really wish I had a CNC machine and/or 3D printer capable of stamping out small parts to design spec or auto-copy! There'd be no end to the uses.
Take care...Brent

That is what my 7 now altered ferules looked like. I should have left them alone. See how the top is pretty much flat. I saw it when two people were trying to put the soft top bow ends into the ferules on Brent's car. imagine with a lone person trying to do it by his self, maybe it's raining. and the other side keeps sliding off the ferules and dinging the paint. Again I'm sorry , I did it to my self. Some times I keep myself awake thinking about little stuff that wasn't a problem to begin with.

Hi Mike,
Sounds like those are the ones to find. Maybe someone here will know a source for them or maybe EM will respond eventually, I’ll keep looking too.
For the reason you mention, sounds like those would be good ones to get. Regardless, even with those installed, if you ever need a hand setting your top on (or lifting it off) I’d be happy to help, just let me know.

I had these kits for years and never knew that there was a bottom inside the ferules. I had only seen the FinishLine ferules and they were rounded but also the doors on the original car had three ferules per door for the side curtain. I was all worried about placing my arm across a ferule in the center of the door. I got around to looking at the side curtain kit and realized there were only two down leg posts per side curtain. the legs bottom on the ferules internal bottom, holding the fabric and seal of the side curtain just off the ferule top. The original EM ferules were made from SS had external threads , and flat tops IThe obvious came too late to me.

Brent's car had a strap on each side soft top the rear kick out bow and a buckle to tie that bow assembly down to the car. Where did that come from? Where do you suppose EM got their Ferules from?

Try Shell Valley. They supply their windshields.

I agree with Tim, and get them on the phone (vs just looking on the website). They're helpful and likely to know industry sources.

I’m happy for you. At the same time I’m really pissed at EM for not responding to me. Oh well whatever.

It was just luck. I've called EM several times and t just rings. Someone just happened to be there at that time
Now its Finish Line. I called, get a message to leave brief message and- or email sales@csxparts.com. I left a message on the phone and I tried several times to email the email wouldn't deliver. I want some things and have questions.

Saturday 5/ 3/ 2020 the ferrules came today . 8 EM SS flat top ferrules $11.00 each+ 8 nuts @$0.18 ea , 8 internal lock washers @0.06 ea, 8 black plastic caps @$0.17 ea. I'm guessing the black plastic caps go over the nut and internal lock washer , they are a new thing. plus $.50 charge for credit card sales and $8.21 shipping == $99.99
I won't mess with theses ferrules. That is over now
Conclusion, Everett Morrison is only shut down temporarily for virus shut down. No one there for now is the new normal.
