My Cobra is the only automatic I have ever owned in fifty years of car ownership and I must say that i find it a really nice combination that suits the whole torque profile and low speed low rev cruising ambiance of the Cobra. And even on the race track I can stick it in second and comfortably do 60% of our local race track without a gearchange or dropping below 3000 RPM which suits the torque curve of my engine. I keep a couple of masks in all of my cars along with some hand wipes as no one in this area seems to think they can get this virus and they refuse to wear a mask or even stand 6 feet apart. Sad that people here still claim this virus is a hoax and every day we have people right here dying from it.

The Virus is Real. Masks effectiveness maybe not.
My wife is extremely claustrophobic. Driving through a 4 lane car tunnel has her in tears.
She has been tortured by doctors putting her in an MRI and refusing to believe their chill pill drugs will work.
She tried to wear a mask to get her teeth cleaned and nearly flipped totally out in a panic attack. She tried several times at home to find a way and cannot do it. She has a tooth that needs filled, but they will not make any accommodations for her. She is do for a check up to follow up on her thyroid cancer, but cannot get treated do to the mask requirement.
Even though the governor of our state has said that anyone who cannot wear a mask for medical reasons does not have to wear one, and he specifically said not to question anyone not wearing a mask, the news media has preached these are bad people. She gets looks and mean stairs from people. A restaurant refused service even after explaining that they were discriminating against a handicapped person. That night she had a nightmare that her appendix ruptured, and they had to put a mask on her to take her into the hospital. I had to wake her. She was totally flipped out and I thought she would die of a heart attack before I could get her calmed down.
So before you condemn people without a mask, open your eyes and think on your own.
Masks according to the CDC and the box they come in do absolutely nothing to protect the wearer against viruses. They only reduce the area of contamination when an affected person sneezes or coughs. There are pictures out there of people exhaling E cigarette vapors with and without a mask. You should look at these. If you wear glasses you already realize how little of the air you exhale is going through the mask, as it fogs your glasses.

Very well stated with good examples. Wearing a mask is important if social distancing is not possible especially out doors but it should not become political which it has. Medical exceptions should be noted.
I don't wear mine while driving my Slabside which I wish could be all of the time.

Old Dog that's rough. I have a couple friends with lung deficiencies that cannot breath with the masks of any kind unless maybe for oxygen. There is a wide variety of masks being worn, some work better than others. You would think with the greater population wearing masks (more people than ever before) that if they are so effective in preventing the spread of covid, the rates would be significantly lower. Maybe they are?? For now until we learn what works best, I will use the mask when appropriate and avoid unnecessary contact with the public. The goal is to stay off the ventilator which I've been told is worse. Stay healthy my friends!! John
