Cobra kit barn find
This fellow posted over on the open wheel racing forum: https://www.apexspeed.com/forums/sho...d=1#post613714
Sounds like a slab side with extra parts to make an FIA or 427. He's looking to sell it.

The thread indicates it’s a Unique or ERA FIA kit. Either one would be a great starting point as long as everything is included. Look forward to the pics.

After looking @ ApexSpeed site, the first thing that jumped out at me, was it's in Canada, if less then 25years old (The Kit). It will be near impossible to get it in the US. Last year I found a FFR Daytona (90% done) in Canada, after talking with Shippers & Brokers that know all the laws they said no way you can get a (Unfinished) car that's less Title and/or Registration across the border, even with receipts & COM (Certificate of Manufacture) Just saying if anyone is interested (Do your HOMEWORK first) Cheers TommyRot.

Super good information from Alfa02 - had dealings with Canada in the very early 80s on computer show items and "paper work".
I would hate to have a bunch of parts in another country I can not get home.

Probably of much greater value to someone in Canada.

Thanks for all the good info guys - shoot me an email and I can send pics and more details..plan to start going through boxes next weekend...I think the kit is the 289 Slabside
as the hood does not have an intake, the fenders do not appear to be cut back to open up for larger tires, and the rear hood does not have the dimples for the suitcase fitment.
The extra front and rear clips appear to be a Johnex 427 possibly...G. Mills

ps I will check with my Customs Broker and figure out if this package could be shipped
into the USA....

Hello Folks - While going through one of the binders, I came across a phone number and called it...turns out to be a previous owner of this package ...this kit is a Johnex 289
Slabside kit...and includes the chassis which was designed and built by CSC Racing.
Still digging through material...will post as more info becomes available

@ Weedsitter I think since winter is coming on, and you racer's have nothing better to do, not like you have a race car to rebuild You should build this Johnex 289 street car, and come hang with us guy's As a Ex-racer myself, I know how much free time comes along, with the care & feeding of a race car, it's a full time job, but give it some thought. These Cobras are nothing but FUN !! Your more then welcome here. Our club is here for you, if you needed any help. Cheers TommyRot.
