NEED Help with Lower rad hose #
Hi to all, I have a FFR MK II with a 351 Cleveland motor and for the life of me cannot locate a lower radiator hose.. The # on the hose says:: (D) 71316CS , I have called gates, napa , etc etc all to no avail. This hose is Looooong, makes a couple 90s from the radiator and of course a 90 to the bottom of the pump... ANY help or knowledge is so appreciated.
Thank you In advance..
Ken H

No sir, that hose is 16" long, my hose on the Cleveland is like 3 feet long. I've never seen a hose as long, but obviously someone makes it for some application. Someone on this forum must have a Cleveland motor and can help me out with the ID #. I'm hoping .
Thank you...

I don't know about your hose, but the lower hose on my car is about 3 feet also. I had a stainless pipe made to go the distance and just used rubber hoses to connect it to the water pump and lower radiator outlet. I even had a small bracket welded on so I could attach the hose to a mount so it didn't flop around.

Thank you for the reply, yes I am aware of that setup ,but this is a single hose with a mid section support, I may have no other option other than pull it off and take it to the local auto parts store and go in the back and try an match it up . I was just " hoping" someone on this board might have a 351 clevland with the rubber lower hose and a good part number for it . .I'll wait a couple days and see if anyone can help me. Thx

I found my radiator hose by taking the old one and matching up the bends, twists and kinks to a piece of a larger hose and cut off the ends...
I think for a run like yours having a steel tube bent to fit and using rubber transitions is probably a good idea. A length like that is prone to collapsing anyway.

Mystery Solved, so I pulled the bottom hose off, and where the mid section hose support is ,it had a rubber cover around that area ,after pulling the cover off, there is a 1-1/2" plastic splice, joining 2 different hoses.
Thank you all for your help, but this is my fault for not looking into ( pulling off the hose) prior to asking the forum.... Ken

I have a FFR MKII as well and it's the same way. A heavy straight flex hose from the water pump then an adapter and a molded hose to the radiator.

Just a FYI for anyone that has a cleveland motor the 2 lower hoses Are E72357 which goes to the water pump and D71316 which goes to the radiator, I joined them with an aluminum 1 1/2" Billet barbed connector from amazon...

That's a Dayco hose available on Amazon.

This looks like an excellent option. I would not want a hose 3' long made of rubber only.
