Default A-Production (AP) SCCA class

Many Cobra's have the 'AP' decals on the side which stands for 'A-Production' class however how many owners really know what that means? Trying to find some info on what cars raced in the AP class against the 427 Cobra's back in the early 60's.

I know there were the Corvette and Ferrari's but thats all I can find. Were there any other manufacturers in this class? What sspecific models were they?

The class was mostly Corvettes, however, Cobras, Porsche, Datsun Were the others that were popular......

You can always go to the GCR and see the classification of cars for A/P.....it the same for GT-1......

The first Cobras that ran AP were the 289s, where as stated, the usual competition was small block Corvettes. When the 427 Cobras were introduced, the 289s were bumped down to BP, along with the 327 Chevies. Just as before, the main competition in AP were 427 Corvettes.
