weber linkage
Greetings fellow weber masochists :
I have the bellcrank centered on the intake with two short rods going to the L & R master carb, a kit from Peirce Manifolds.
When I try to sync the master & slave with the slave rod the adjustment goes fast when I tighten the lock nuts due to accumulated slop in the threads and the cup & ball joints.
Any one have a cure or procedure for this, or know where I might find a better quality linkage ? ( forget Peirce, they only sell what I have )

This is the linkage I got provided by CompClassics.
Different mounting approach, but main linkage should be the same.
It works perfect!

What Alf has looks fairly similar to what I have from Jim Inglese. No slop in mine. I did have to add a brace to the bracket coming up from the head as I had to add an additional return spring for racing and that added just enough additional torque to bend the bracket slightly under hard acceleration. With the brace, no more of that.

The linkage is the most critical component Of the Weber system, you will be an extremely frustrated Weber owner otherwise. We have reproduced the original Shelby race team fabricated assembly for both the “opposed” manifold type and the “parallel” manifold type and use all the original specification rod ends and hardware that Shelby’s race team used.

Gaz 64: thanks for the link, that's what I'm looking for. Waiting for a call back now to determine sizes.
ALF: Thanks for the photo. That's quite the linkage, I'll ck with Comp Classic about it.
1795: Inglese doesn't have a center bellcrank type on the shelf. his are all made to order.
been there, done that !

John's system is the best and it is period correct.

Found the links I needed, from "Alky Digger'" a cool site in Nashville, specializing in blowers, old school hilborn injection , vertec magnetos, etc.
Should have them by sat.

Well they didn't show up on sat (paid for 2nd day air ) as they missed the truck from Orlando to Sarasota. They finally made it here @ 8PM on tues. Then to add insult to injury,
the agent at the ups store said that due to transportation problems, they were not guaranteeing delivery on UPS Blue, only on O'night RED. so no refund on blue,
So don't use the Blue !
But got the hex rod, heim jointed links installed, (required some minor mods to bellcrank mounting ) adjusted and all seems good after test run.
Now back to the previous program. (Jetting )

Looks good, should be easy to sync, and stay in sync.

Thanks for posting photos of your linkage.... it looks solid for sure.
I'm always interested in seeing how different people setup their linkage. Once I fabricated a bellcrank with the pull arm slightly longer (1.5/1) my tip-in has a very light feel in the accelerator pedal and still fully opens the blades.
