Default Site is getting flakey again!!!

The CC site is starting to get flakey again! Just a heads up those that run this thing… perhaps a fix early on will prevent a total crap out in the near future. Maybe get rid of all the bots at the same time and purge the 1 visit members.
Just a thought….
I’m guessing Friday night for the crash and down for 5 days…
Place your bets..

Yep, got "The Page Cannot Be Found" on this 5 times before it finally opened the topic. Usually the first sign of impending doom.

Why is this the only forum this happens to???

The hamsters have to be rotated out for fresh hamsters occasionally.

Well, in the words of a late Australian Prime Minister (JM Fraser) .... "Life wasn't meant to be easy"

Seriously, though ..... we love them (Cobras) but they're only cars.
Just have another glass of red, and it all becomes either a little clearer .... or less clear-er, and it doesn't matter

Cheers!

Send a PM to Brent , as he does not read the forum on a daily basis.

It really is that simple.

A little site member clean-up might also be helpful. Look at member list and the number of 0 and 1 post members. And the odd naming conventions that look like bots. Time to purge that junk if you plan to run a on an antiquated software system. Might help.

Those are spammer bots, usually 10-1,000 a day that you as the end user, never, or almost never see.

Spam bots are computerized attempts to get into the site, so it can then flood the site with items for sale (IE: porn, clothes, anything but on topic cars stuff). There are millions of attempts a day, across the world, all looking for that one site that does not have it's security up to snuff, attempting to get user information, or saved passwords, or any number of things.

Kind of like spam texts, emails, or phone calls about the extended warranty on cars you sold 20 years ago. It cost very little to send them out, and all it takes is one person to bite to make the scammers/spammers day.

I agree, appears to be running better now. Would be nice to know if someone did something because we brought it to their attention early. But I’m sure that would be a lot to ask.
