Good Tool or Part Finds Thread:
Purchased a new pressure testing kit for my cooling system with both pressure and vacuum capabilities. It came with a rubber plug and clamping device for connection to the radiator instead of a standard radiator cap. I really did not want a kit with 12 different caps that I would never use. While the rubber plug might be good in theory, when I was about to test a cooling system on a friends Corvette, I noticed that his tank connector was plastic. Better judgement said “stop” because the pressure testers clamp uses the tanks lip as a clamping point to set the rubber plug in place. I found a proper cap with matching hose connector online. An excellent find. They have 3 cap versions available, mine was their #3. Got it thru Walmart online.[IMG] [/IMG]

I believe there is an industry standard for the connectors.
Mine fit no issues.

Excellent floor jack for cars with minimal ground clearance.

For those of us with carbs, float bowl adjustments are sometimes
needed. The locking screws on top of each bowl have wide slots
and usual screwdrivers are either cumbersome or mismatched.
I found that a Japanese plumbing screwdriver is dimensionally perfect
both in length, blade width and thickness. It's an EXACT fit.
Can be found on Ebay:
Search for "TOP TWD-45 Screwdriver"

Interesting solution….. I wouldn’t have thought of that. Your ground clearance is that much of a challenge? Good thinking, 99

Two of my favorite tools are homemade. I find homemade studs with slotted ends for a screwdriver very useful for aligning parts and holding them in position while I get bolts started (e.g., gaskets, headers, bell housing, water pump, etc.). The other is a stubby spark plug socket for working in tight spaces behind headers. I cut it so there are just enough flats inside the socket to grip the plug, and just enough flats on the outside for a box end or open end wrench.

Expanding on Tommy's post, spark plug removal with headers is a
source for some of the most creative garage swearing known to man.
Now add the force multiplier of Cobra construction where everything
is only 1/4" from everything else.
Picture shows a couple tools that help navigate that challenge.
Powerhouseproducts.com compact slotted spark plug sockets.
A slotted socket greatly reduces space required to engage the plug hex.
Slotting the socket is nothing new, just that these are really compact.
Sold as a set of two as shown in picture.
Disen Torque Wrench Extensions (3/8"drive).

Anyone come up with a good tool for the slotted nut on the dash side of our Lucas switches.

Snap ring pliers and a steady hand.
