Default Original Owner Cobra's?

I was just thinking, in a few months, it will be CSX2006s 60th anniversary of being purchased by a young jazz musician who walked into a dealership and bought it as his first car! That of coerce was Herbie Hancock, who is the longest original owner of a Cobra. I know Hank Williams, also a jazz musician, is the second longest, but, are there other original Cobra owners out there? I'm talking about people who bought there Cobras brand new and still own them! Cheers, Dennis

I'm pretty sure that the Hank Williams cobra owner is not the singer.

He is a Jazz musician, not a country singer! Cheers, Dennis

Several years ago I had my (replica) 289 at a local car show and this fellow wandered up and said "that's just like my car". In my head I thought "yea, right". Turns out he was right as in this small Oregon town he had a candy apple red 289 that he bought new when he worked across the street from the Shelby factory in Venice, Cal. It was totally original in decent, but far from show condition. Several years later I saw it for sale on the Hyman site for close to a million, and it had been restored. There will be fewer and fewer of these stories since any original owner would likely be well over 80 years old.

Herbie was one of the youngest at I think 23 to buy one new. He also had the advantage that his carrier took off, so he could afford to keep it, Most young guys had to sell theirs after they got married! Cheers, Dennis

I am watching a movie I recorded a while ago: The Square Peg, a 1958 flick starring Sir Norman Wisdom. His bio on IMDB mentions:

Quote:
A lover of cars, his collection included a 1956 Bentley S1 Continental R Type fastback, which he first bought in 1961, and then again in the late 1980s. In 1969, he purchased, after the divorce from Freda Simpson, a Shelby Cobra 427, CSX3206, in New York, which he kept until 1986, when it was sold to another car enthusiast in Brighton, UK. Until his age and declining mental health meant he failed a Department of Transport fitness-to-drive test, he owned and drove a 1987 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit and a Jaguar S-Type, which were sold in September 2005.
Sounds like he might have been an original owner. Any idea of where this one might be?
