Bob,

Send Dan Case a PM if he does not see this posting, he will know. On all 1960's cars I have ever owned and drove, the dimmer switch was mounted higher up on the floor board to the left of the clutch pedal, so that your left foot would not be resting on it.

Jim

A.C. Cars fabricated steel brackets, painted them chassis black, and attached them to the floor and front wall of the footbox. CSX2001-CSX2200 used a Lucas brand dip switch and appropriate hole pattern while CSX2201-CSX2589 used a Ford switch and a hole pattern appropriate for it.

This is not a great illustration but it was cut from a factory picture taken at A.C. Cars in mid 1964.

If the switch is used for a foot rest the switch will get clicked a lot, probably many more times than designed to deal with.

CSX3021 (competition cobra) had the dimmer switch mounted high up directly to the fiberglass footbox. (why does a race car need dimmer switch? who knows..)

Here is CSX3020, a competition cobra here in Dallas, I took the pic myself - sorry so out of focus

Here is HM2008, my Hurricane 427 Cobra. I fabricated mine myself to be as much like the originals. Notice the lower mount holes, my first attempt it was too low. Now I can use it as a comfortable dead pedal for my left foot.
