For some reason I'm sincerely doubting that this car will ever see much, if any, road use. It'll be a gorgeous trailer/garage queen, and that's fine. It's his car and if that's how he derives enjoyment from it, good for him.
Personally, I prefer to get my jaw rictus from smiling like a fool when I'm tooling down the highway. 40MPH or 110+MPH, the smile is the same.
I quit feeling real badly about getting a stone chip. (still feel a little badly) but realize it bound to happen to a car that is driven.

Well now... Not so fast!
If I can move my 993, it will be sliding into my garage.
100% will see driving time!

Hmmmm, and all this time I thought they just charged you $50k but gave you the ol' run-of-the-mill $20k paint job.

I'm not seeing the strip, prep, repaint, refinish, and R&I of all components adding up to $50,000.

The kid kind of looked like a descendant of Earl Scheib to me.

The narration sounds like if the characters
from Peaky Blinders did car paint instead
of drinking, smoking and stealing stuff.
Not seeing $50K painting that.
A McLaren or Ferrari all that and probably more.

Polishing my Kirkham was much much much cheaper. Who needs stinking paint.

Bill S., you know what a 50k paint job would be like, I take your comments over the guy in the Video who, if I walked into his shop, I would more likely turn around and out the door I'd go. A little too much foolishness going on. The start of the video: "Frying the tires on a E-Type", that's just bad form, better yet that's just stupid. Don't get me started on the buffer smoking a Cigar while buffing a car, good lord.

As an example, I personally know of a 34 Rolls Royce Phantom II, which was disassembled, stripped of its aging 60's era lacquer repaint, prepped, repainted, and reassembled, and the total was less than $50,000....And this was in the winter of 2021 and spring/summer of 2022.

Good detail work but I’m not seeing $50,000 there either.

I'm not qualified to judge the paint. But I do like how it came out. I kept screaming inside "Stop touching it"!
He did say it was 350 hours (not man hours). That may or may not be billable hours. But with good products I couldn't venture to say a total. I don't know if $120-$140 per hour would be unheard of.
Now was that 50K in USD or BPS?

350 hours on a Cobra.....let's say a full 8 hour day, if you could get a bodyman or a painter to actually work a solid 8 hour day, that would be 43 days of working on the car, 8 solid hours a day for that time period. Again, sorry, I'm not seeing it here.
Not even billable hours, as I cannot come up with more than 106 hours, which would be complete R&I of the bolt on parts, drivetrain, and interior, strip, prep, and repaint...Even if billed at an unheard of $200 an hour, I'm still coming in at $21,200.....I know high end restoration shops that can't get $200/hr, so the shop in question, sorry, no.

My answer to the original question and title of the thread; no.
I feel it's ludicrous that a painter charge that amount, and have the same opinion that someone would agree to pay that amount. But apparently those two people found one another and are both satisfied.

On the first cruise with that $50K shine
you'll get a stoplight review from this guy.
