The One-Time Italian bodied Ghia Cobra roadster
Just sold in Florida Jan.14th.Here's a story
https://mycarquest.com/2023/01/a-com...cobra-427.html
There's another Ghia-bodied 427 Cobra --that one a coupe--still out and about but haven't got enough facts yet.

Already responded to by "THE" authority on the subject.

To clarify, CSX 3063 sold for a hammer price of $600k plus an extra $60k in the form of the "buyer's premium" (read that as Mecum commission, which they collect from both the buyer and the seller). And most certainly, building a "1965 427 Competition Cobra" from a chassis that was 6" longer than a Cobra chassis and was built as a prototype as a different car altogether, then modifying it 25-30 years after the fact into a "Cobra" has a definite effect upon the sales price. I would submit that Marilyn Monroe in a blue dress may indeed by the same a Marilyn Monroe in a red dress, but a cousin in a satin dress some 25 years later is something else altogether.

Posting it here will get you the same response, which is why I quoted it here, and linked to the original discussion, as is required when doing so.

That was predictable...
Two things that trigger mrmustang - revival of an old thread regardless of the reason and ANYTHING posted by Historybuff, regardless of its merit or level of interest to members of this forum. I actually resisted posting a 3..2..1 countdown to snarky response from Bill as soon as I saw the post!
I for one do not frequent the SAAC forum and I'm intrigued by the rebodied Cobra one-offs so I'm appreciative of the post. Keep the info coming - and post some pics if you can. One of the Italian-bodied variants (can't think of which one though) is really beautiful and may have represented a possible evolution of the Cobra into a more modern, true GT car.
EDIT - photo added - This one:

This car will continue to go round and round over the years, funny how that happens.
Bill, less personal, its not an attack. As we all know SAAC has their position to which I agree and its funny as this has been discussed so many times over the years.
Is this even the original CSX3063 Chassis, the world may never know.
Is this the actual Ghia chassis, the world may never know.
Is this a front and rear of wrecked cars, the world may never know.
Is this a very cool McCluskey Cobra = YES!
Would I love to own the car, for sure!
