Default A Male Fairy Tale ...

I ran across this literary masterpiece and thought I would share it ...

Once upon a time, a young Prince asked a beautiful Princess to marry him. But of course, the Princess said, NO! and he lived happily ever after.

He rode motorcycles, dated skinny, long-legged women, and hunted and fished whenever he wanted. He built and raced Cobra's, went to Twin Peaks, and dated NFL Cheerleaders half his age. He drank whiskey, beer, and Captain Morgan and never heard any complaints. He never had to paid any child support or alimony.

He kept his house and all his guns. He ate pizza with potato chips and beans and drank beer, all the while blowing thunderous farts. He never got cheated on while he was at work, and all his friends and family thought he was cool as hell with tons of money in the bank, and he even left the toilet seat up.

My fairy tale is a bit different but I'm still living it:

Young dude meets girl of 16 and becomes friends - a year later they start dating and she starts navigating for him in rallies. Helps with car maintenance and modifications and repairs. They marry 3 years later.

He takes up dinghy racing and she crews for him. after a few years he wins national championship in his class with her support.

They build a house, he gives up sailing and decides to build a Cobra in evenings after work. She helps him every evening he works on it for 5 years (took a while because of lack of money - she made lots of sacrifices like no restaurant or take out foods or movies or fashion clothes or pocket money) , cleans all the parts for him, does medium weight lifting and fitting, assembles motor and keeps track of parts, to do lists and orders. (A week before her hysterectomy she comes to him and says "I wont be able to help you get the diff in for a while after my opp so lets do it now so you can get the suspension in whilst I'm not able to do heavy lifting)

Car finished and running for 30 years now, she still helps me with jobs that need more than 2 hands in the garage - we will be married for 49 years on Thursday and still the best of buddies.

Oh, and she can't drive.

Can anybody beat that.

Snake,

My fairy tale is more like yours and I wouldn’t change a thing.

A good partner and friend makes everything better.

Life is like a box of choclates, according to Forrest Gump. You never know what you will get. You guys did good. The guy who wrote the prose not so much right out of the box but, over time he did all right, was basically happy and all said, he did have a dry sense of humor.
