Default Looking for Tjd - quick release steering wheel hub

For some reason I cannot send PM’s so I’ll just start a new thread.

I have read all the threads about QR steering wheel hubs and I think Tjd has the best solution by far. Are these still in production or any in stock?

I have a Superformance MkII slab side which apparently uses the same steering shaft as the other CSX cars.

Thanks!

Chris

I've seen Tom's hub -- it is very nice. You might want to confirm with Blas that your particular SPF supports that steering shaft (I don't know). Here is a thread though that has nice pics of his work: Bolt-on Steering quick release hub Now if you're curious, the QR hub of mine in that same thread, made by ERA, is mostly the quick release hardware manufactured by Sweet Manufacturing. They manufacture not only the quick release portion but also the splined stub that goes into the quick release. ERA welds the splined stub to the steering shaft and then dresses up the quick release portion to make it virtually invisible. Fabbing it like that would be an option if you were so inclined.

Thanks, I’ll check that out. Does anyone have contact info for Tom? Like I mentioned, for some reason I can’t send PM’s.

I unsuccessfully tried PMing Tom a few weeks ago. I think he may have retired from any active involvement with these sorts of products/projects, which is sad because his solution was very nice, even elegant.

I have done the same, sent pm to Tjd with no joy. I would like to have one for our 4K CSX.
If anyone has been in contact with him, please let him know.
Thank You

I don't think it's happening. But what you really want is the beautiful and invisible QR from ERA. Now, before you say "but Patrick, I don't have an ERA" let me 'splain. The quick release hub that ERA sells is really a work of art and if you exam it closely you can see up inside the covering that there is a sticker that the quick release hardware is actually manufactured by Sweet Manufacturing. Sweet manufactures not only the quick release portion but also the splined stub that goes into the quick release. ERA just welds the splined stub to the steering shaft and then dresses up the quick release portion a little bit to make it virtually invisible. You can do the same on the CSX steering shaft and you will be 100% satisfied.
