My condolences to his family and friends. I met Ed only once but admired him from afar for his good works.

I talked to Ed several years ago when I was trying to help another member work on a cobra that he had bought and I needed to check with Ed about the engine mounting brackets. He was easy to talk with.

Sorry to hear that news. Ed and his wife were stand up people, went to the first Spring Fling and had a good time, they were great hosts.

Twenty years ago this was “Club Classic Roadsters “
DV is “Mr Classic Roadsters “
He always answered my calls and he schooled me on the rear coil over set up I have
A Viper motor in a Cobra with such good grip on the skid pad the oil ran up the block walls and starved the oil pump
His factory engineer friends said they never had that happen before
The DV Spring Fling, what an idea
A true gentleman genius
God bless him and his family

I've been in indirect touch with the Ohio Cobra Club and the VP said "We will, for sure, make some time during the Gala Dinner to honor him."
Also, Randy Combs, Ed's son, is trying to locate the Viper-powered car Ed built.

Condolences to Ed's family and friends. I spoke and interacted with him a number of times over the years and he was always a pleasant and enthusiastic fellow. I hope he went out with a smile and happy with the way he lived his life. In the end, that's about all any of us can really hope for.

Ed was a wealth of information regarding the Classic Roadsters. Posted his phone number up many times to make himself available to this site's members. I have had the pleasure of speaking with him some time ago. RIP DV
