Default CSX2052 at Shelby American Collection

I went to a Cars and Coffee with the Shelby Breakfast Club folks. Our itinerary included stopping at the Shelby American Collection on the way back to get a replacement poster that the framing guys messed up.

On the way in I spotted this baby. I chatted with the owner. His dad bought it in 1971 and is the original owner (his dad passed away a few years ago). This is a "survivor" - it has never been repainted or in any way restored.

This now is #1 in my "cars that caught my breath". (Ron Pratte's original T-bird is now #2).

This is the car that started it all for me. When I was a kid, I would ride my bicycle over to the owners garage when he was there and "bug" him. On occasion, he would take me for a cruise up the frontage road at high rates of speed. Ever since I have been hooked on cars. Now I finally have one of my own.

Isn't that one of the most beautiful little cars you'll ever see?
