Gas Cap Issue?
I've been building an AC for several years now and I was trying to figure out the Gas Cap. I have the cap and drilled the four holes to mount it with, however I don't believe I've ever seen the filler tube. The directions say the two pieces screw together, but there are no threads on the cap.
Did you guys get a two piece Gas Cap??????

All I see in your photo is 1/2 of what you need.
Photo shows gas cap but no filler neck and gasket
Attached with bolts passing through gas cap and body
then nuts on bottom side. Filler tube from fuel tank to
filler neck.
Use the reference below for a photo of
complete Le Mans gas/filler assembly.

Thanks for the info. I was also wondering if AC supplied the whole unit, or I may have misplaced the lower half if they provided it.

Is it upside down? I can’t tell from the picture. Looks like hinge is on the bottom where the gas nozzle will be hitting it. Maybe pic is just rotated wrong lol like all of the ones I post

If you are going to replace what you have, I suggest a replacement with a standard gas cap under the lid. Without a cap you will probably experience fuel and/or vapors escaping thru the lid. Very difficult to maintain a proper seal with only a large o-ring.

My CSX had a live cap and I never had any issues with any kinds of leaks - fuel or vapors. If my recollection is correct mine had a flat washer and sealed pretty well.

Patrickt Can you replace the early model with a later model era gas cap adapter? So I can have a gas cap.

CSX4K cap can be hard to get of if you haven’t had it off in a while.

I don't see why not. Here's a pic from below so you can see how it passes through the fender.

Ct_Cobra nailed it.
You should have that bottom piece.
Once that`s all bolted on, be sure you buy a filler hose recommended for gasoline.

The silver gas cap separates into two pieces. You have to unscrew the two pieces and line ups the threaded piece with the black metal angled piece and pass it through the body and screw it to the body. I also used some black RVT between the layers to keep everything sealed. Also the orientation of the cap should be opposite to mine but I like this better because the lock side sharp; so I moved it to the inside. Hope this helps!

Thank you all, I don't seem to have the gas filler adapter (# 87). I will get an after market Gas Fuel Filler Neck Pipe.
