Default Opinion by Editor of Hot Rod Magazine

Yes, by David Freiburger himself:

"The Most Brutal Car I’ve Ever Been In"

The Most Brutal Car I

Something we already know.

Hats off to Freiberger for a good write up and of course to a blue bleeding Ford guy. Jim is a great guy, good wheel man and of course a real Cobra guy.

Jim is a great guy but his car is vintage legal. I would like to give Freiburger a ride to show him the true meaning of the word brutal.

Default David doesn't know brutal

Dave's a good writer. I don't aways agree with some of his findings. Again here we are looking at a good cobra and driver. To bad he didn't go for a ride in Dick Smiths car. There are a couple of other cars here that are no longer in TRUE stock form but will Loosen the teeth and need a diaper change after a ride. Cars being 3170# or the Silver bullet of Morris to start. Have seen both race either on the track or video. Both cars pulling over 1"g". They also have great drivers. It's a shame that these cars are not allowed to complete in some events after winning them. Champions are aways asked to defend their crowns. This rule doesn't apply to Cobras. A car that is used to measure all other track cars. Rick L.

Bruce you're in a different league or sanity level or something. If you offered me a ride I'm not sure I'd take it. I don't like the passenger side very much. You can feel when a guy is in tune with his machine though and man and machine are ready for that next level.

Default Living by Golden Pond too long.

mickmate That easy life up there in the clean, clear air has soften you. I do agree with the right seat co capt. ride and having no controll. If you ever get out to Fresno and Bruce is around, get a look at his work. As for Morris car driver (Steve) is in tune with the Silver bullet. I asked him if he was using the force or sleeping at 160 mph. No wrestling the car, just smooth driving. Both these car have about the same HP. Bruce's can be drivin on the street, not sure if the splitter on Morris's could survive the street with the low ground clearance. Anyway I am gald they built Cobras. The info feed back has been great from both men. It's very hard today to find someone willing to talk about how they set there car and basic philosophy on why it works. Dick Smith was another who talked about running 15" wheels and the act of drifting the car and being smooth on the track and going faster than car with 17"or 18" wheel setups. Anyway, getting ready for the snow?? The a good day, Rick L. Ps you do live in a beautiful area.
