My Cobra is locked up in a Ford dealership's showroom. It is resting patiently for it's reopening. Me, I'm not that patient, but I'm SOL at the moment

The whole thing the Russians and Saudis did was to force the US shale oil business out of business. That has happened. They need a relatively high price per barrell to be profitable over the cost of extraction. That is no longer the case. Most of the oil we produced that changed us from importer to exporter was shale oil. Now we will be an importer again, and the price of gas will be at the whim of the outside conglomerates. It can switch but shale oil production will take some time and stability to wind up again.

If oil does not return to a level that the shale oil is profitable to produce, a tariff might be used to level the playing field. If the economy didn't need a lower energy price, I suspect it would have already happened.

"We are still paying $102 a litre from a $170 in Canada for 94 octane getting ripped off"
Just another of many ways our Canadian cousins get to pay for their "FREE MEDICAL" and the other "FREEBIES". I paid $45 for a $20 bottle of Tullamore Dew up there last summer and was told that cigarettes are $20/pack. Income taxes at 58% for the truck driver I talked to and then there's sales tax and VAT etc. etc. etc.

True but unlike my southern friends we do not lose our houses if we get sick, and we know nothing is free

Last week I drove 1602 miles in my Ford Focus and it cost me $68 in gasoline.
And I missed the $1.08 per gallon gas stations.
I paid $1.25 to $1.47

Just to add cigarettes are $10 a pack Canadian, if you are paying 58% income tax you are probably in the 300 k range I'm around 80 and in 18% bracket but you are correct lots of hidden taxes, its a shame we live in the 2 greatest countries in the world we all pay to much taxes for the return

Free Money
We all pay a lot of taxes which helps to support so many who choose not to work. Nothing is free, someone must pay. Just watch what happens with the "free money" when the coronavirus is over.
