There are a few of us who will take the conventional route up I 17. We will leave the Chevron station at carefree highway and i-17 at 9:00 a.m. as scheduled. If you're going up that way with us, throw your name up here so we'll be looking for you.

Default Summary

Thanks to all for another (my 22nd in a row) Route 66 Fun Run.
Started off with 7 cobras and a Mustang, left on time, beautiful day.
Mark, Karl, Scottie, Jan, Jim, Scot, Dr Bruce, and me.
First stop in Congress gained another cobra (Mike and son.)
Met up with Dan at Chino Valley stop, gassed, pit stop, and off to Seligman.
The Williams stayed in Williams (and froze.)
Some of us ate at Snow Cap, others at Lilo’s, then gathered our registration package and off to Kingman after stops at Peach Springs and Hackberry for tradition purposes. Again, great but windy weather.
Friday night most walked over to Arby’s for dinner and shot the sh*t in the parking lot until by about 8pm there wasn’t anyone still awake. Looks like age is catching up to us.
Saturday morning Mark, Scottie, and Karl drove upstream to Seligman to join the crowd for the traditional departure. The other 7 of us waited to park in front of Mr Dz, and, thanks to Jim, we were successful. The officials let us in first.
Long day in the sun and wind, gave out my last 150 Hot Wheels to kids passing by and they loved it!
My grandsons are apparently now to big too play with Hot Wheels and I had a bunch left over. Use to buy them used, in bulk on eBay.
Saturday night in the motel parking lot was like Friday night except Dan collected and brought Pizza Hut pizzas for everyone. I was stuffed as normal on this weekend.
Sunday morning all of us except Jim and Jan departed at 7am heading home. Jan and Jim were suggested as trophy winners and waited to meet at Lewis park at 9am.
Turns out there was not a suitable Cobra category, so no one won this year.
Great, windy drive home with stops in Wikieup and Wickenburg.
No car trouble, sounded like everyone enjoyed themselves.
I think next year will be Oatman Saturday instead of sitting in one place all day.

Good job on the recap, BobB. 'Twas just a bit nipply on the ride home Sunday but that lasted only an hour or so. Good to see folks. Looking forward to next year.
