Default Help Wanted to Identify

Dear all

I bought a AC Cobra. Are there some experts who can help me to indentify the car?

The car was listed in the Barret Jackson Auction as "Butler Build". The Vin id 7R03T177836 First matriculation 04/1967 in California. Later on matriculated as historic vehicle in Arizona.

I was not find any frame numbers, like people said. It must be before Butler acquired Antz, if it is really a Butler Build.

Any ideas for identification?

Your car was registered using an existing Ford VIN, it is for a 1967 Mustang convertible built at the San Jose plant and was built with a 200 CID six cylinder engine. This was a common means of registering a new build and avoiding taxes on the real value of the car. This system is not legal and actually never was. I suspect that the original Mustang warranty tag is riveted on your car somewhere. Note that the aluminum tag from the door is NOT a "VIN" tag but a "Warranty" tag. The actual VIN is stamped into the body of a Mustang in several places as the "warranty" tag is removable and a VIN is not removeable nor transferrable.

This might have been a good thing to do in the run up to the purchase ... Today, the horse has sort of left the barn, so to speak.

It is either an Arntz Type 3, or a Butler. They were almost identical in design. The dash layout and interior might tell us which one it is.

If you search through the Arntz/Butler forum, there are a few posts telling you where the serial number is located on a Butler. Arntz never had a serial number.
