Default Radical ICV in Qld (Non-Cobra)

Not a Cobra, but this XY Falcon is being built in Qld as an ICV.
Individual throttle body Boss 429 big block, tubbed, full chassis, monster tyres, IRS. Wow, I'd love to see what the engineer has put in place to get this one signed off. Very cool car!

27 years after getting my first Street Machine magazine and I still cant get enough of the cars and projects that they feature.

That rear end setup looks sweet.

Will be interesting to watch to progress of this.

If its an ICV, don't think of it as a Ford Falcon - it's a scratch build like a cobra, so as long as it passes B&T, and emissions etc, then you're on the road. It's a replica of a falcon...

Would be pretty straightforward under VSB 14, even here in NSW.

How would you get that big block to meet emissions? Even the induction would be tricky with the noise test.

The noise test would be hell, except that you've got a lot more space to muffle it than you would on a Cobra or 7 replica; this gives an advantage. Emissions is pretty straightforward with accurate enough fuel injection and big enough cats.

But... do you honestly believe all the compliance stuff would stay one once it was registered? (This is the most laughable part of the Australian scheme).

If this was the case, then why bother with the ICV process. Just complete the build and replace the original rego plates and away you go .... no need for engineering, pits, emissions, noise, ...

Motorex next weekend...a lot of the big dollar cars have just kept original registration and had regular "inspections" to keep them registered whilst being built.
