Default micky tompson cross ram intake

Just looking for information on an intake I have. It's a m/t cross ram with two matching number 4 holly carbs - rocker covers - dizzy and extension - carby linkages - two carby hats. The whole lot to drop straight on. The whole lot is in amazing condition for its age. I was told it came off a super jet in 1970 and has not been on a car since. There is not even a gasket stain on it. Looking to sell but not to sure how much for ????? Have seen just the intake alone for $2500 on ebay with no carbs ?? Any info would be great. Cheers KEMPY

Hi Kempy, having read this first thing this morning and now tonight I see it's had 147 views through the day with no response surprises me. Even though 427 Cobras used FE engines as did Super Cobra Jets they weren't fitted with this type of intake. Given this is also an Australian page on the forum where 99% of builds here are can't, by regulation, use the FE engine or elaborate performance intakes like this, I think your'e asking the wrong crowd.
I thought someone would would chime in with a view as we're all gear heads, however think a more relevant forum would offer more feedback.
You haven't included in you're profile where you are from, so I'm assuming Aus as this is an Aus page. If so, FE's aren't that common here so you're market is somewhat limited. It could be worth good coin, more so if it were a factory setup as that's what demand the dollars.
For all the reasons above, I would have no idea what it is worth, but best of luck moving it.

Hi Kempy,
Interesting pieces, and good to hear you have all the bits required for the install. These manifolds are challenging to tune, so it's reasonable to think that someone might have fitted it for a short time then given up on it all thise years ago. They need heaps of ignition advance, custom accelerator pump cams, and a camshaft designed specifically for the characteristics of the engine.
Jay Brown over in the states is the guru of FE intakes. He says the power starts to fall away from 4500rpm compared to the Edelbrock cross ram, but he acknowledges the cool factor for those who want the look and aren't interested in peak performance.

The $2500 intake is a brand new (NOS) intake, so it's hard to get a price reference from it.

As David mentioned, the Australian Cobra crowd isn't really the market you need to aim for. I hope to have an FE motor in my Cobra soon and I love the look of the cross ram, but it won't go close to fitting under the bonnet.

You might want to look at Network54 or FE Power to see if anyone in the States is interested and is prepared to pay for shipping.

Take heaps of really detailed photos. Post them here and post them on every ad that you write on forums. You never know who might be searching at the time, and pictures really help.

That said, if the parts are getting in your way and you just want to offload them cheaply to a tight@rse Aussie, I'm your guy!
