Sad news for Mark and Robyn Hudson
Very sad to hear the news last night that Mark and Robyn's beautiful Cobra was destroyed when their shed was burnt to the ground in bushfires yesterday.
I believe the family and house are all good and by all accounts very lucky to escape with just the shed destroyed.
I lived in the bush many years ago and an old wood combustion stove caught alight and burnt our house to the ground. It is a very sad time and our thoughts go out to you all that have lost property and or loved ones.

That's an awful story Ash but thanks for letting us know, and my heartfelt commiserations to Mark and Robyn.
A mate of mine from a bike forum was lucky to escape just yesterday when an adjoining house to his at Winmalee up in the Blue Mountains went up. A fire chopper bombed his house and saved it, and then the choppers were stood down because the high winds were making it too dangerous to fly.
Sounds chaotic down there. Try to stay safe everyone! We're thinking of you...

Very sad indeed and I also extend my sympathy to Mark and Robyn.
Tis great news their home is intact and they personally were not harmed.
It is hoped the shed and contents were well insured and they have little trouble with the insurance company in their claim.
I know my statement regarding insurance seems out of left field but I have had first hand experience consulting with flood victims in SEQ.
We found the greatest causation of major clinical depression was not the loss of possessions but the reprehensible manner in which victims were treated by their insurance companies.

I dealt with a number of clients after cyclone Larry in 2006 with regards to insurance. The companies who exercised the under insurance or co-insurance on these poor souls was heartbreraking to see after homes and personal items had been turned to sticks.

Gee that is sad, but thank the Lord that they are safe, and they still have a home.
So many people lost everything and I can't imagine how they are going to cope.
I wish the government had blanket insurance for public loss due to natural causes
instead of building statues and other stuff.

It's really strange to hear all the people up here in the central coast that have lost their homes and they said ...No problem we will rebuild...amazing attitude...the only regrets were for lost photos !

What terrible news. I hope the community can rebuild safer and stronger and with the type of spirit that tragedies such as this often fosters.

Really sad to hear Mark and Robyn have lost their beautiful(& fast) Cobra. They really loved that car and during my conversations with them at the Nationals they indicated they would never part with it.
It is nice to hear that their house was saved.
My thoughts and heart felt wishes go out to all that have been affected. It would be a devastating time. As mentioned the courage & efforts shown by both residents and the many emergency services personal is inspiring.

Aweful to hear and so very glad all are safe.
While not related to this fire I don't believe, I'm all for 20 public lashes for every dushbag that throws a cigarette out the window in this country. Surely we are not serious about fires in the tinderbox we live without this added act of benile stupidity entering the equation. It is my number one hate in this country by far.
I'm not anti smoker, if ya want a slow painful death by choice go ahead but one butt can kill and destroy an aweful lot if not disposed of properly.
Stay safe... There's sadly more to come this summer by all reports.

Very sad to hear
I went out to his place afew times
Very nice place up mountains
My mum lives up at kurragong height so I'm ringing her every few days checking up on things
I recon they should cut the hands off on dickheads who start fires
I've got a very sharp saw which I use to cut radiator hoses and u just have to look at the blade and u get cut and I would gladly use it on those pricks
Or even on their necks

You are talking about the fine men and women of our defence forces.
Apparently after months of record breaking temperatures and little rain some officer thought it would be a good idea, on a day forecast for 36 degrees and extremely strong winds, to set off a few detonations on the army range at Lithgow!
My 'ancestral home' at Oaky Park is in one of the first streets which was at risk but has been saved. My father worked at Zig Zag Railway in the 1940s and apparently that has suffered severe damage with a lot of the historic rolling stock and workshop area damaged.

Ah crap not the president's cobra,
I've been wondering how they went, at least they're safe and their home is ok. Nearly 200 homes destroyed and over another 100 damaged according to the news. Sort of lucky I guess compared to some in a twisted sort of way. All the best Robyn and Mark our thoughts are with you.

Sorry to hear about your cobra Mark and Robyn
that was a very nicely put together car
no doubt it is a big blow - glad to hear damage was limited to the shed
hope everything is soon back on an even keel for you two
