Default Hello from Brisbane

Hi folks,

Thought I would stop lurking and introduce myself, I have my DRB GT40 in the garage and made a start, but nothing worth talking about, looking forward to being active in the forum and hopefully getting this thing completed in a few years.

Cheers

Bob

Welcome Bob,

Looking forward to following you build on the GT 40.
I would love to build one of them next but the other half says I have enough cars. No more. lol
I would have to sell one first. But we will see.
Make sure we get to see lots of pics.

Ross

Onya Bob -- maybe you need a Cobra project as well --theres a tradition to follow you know
Bobs pretty handy with cad cam, precision machining - tool and die making and plastic injection moulding.
Good luck with the build and hurry up - racing season starts in a couple of months

I'm pretty handy at pushing paper around in my desk job

Jeez there are some talented people around here. Can't wait to see what sort of little tricks you incorporate into your build Bob!

No colour decision yet, but the motor will be Ford,

anyone have any helpful experiences with bringing in an engine from the US, and getting it to pass emissions regulations in Queensland?

hey bob have a look at the latest unique cars mag, an interesting article on the GT40 that they are building to be hopefully a prize car for the mag.
shows the different engine options and how they pass emissions

Thanks, interesting read, at this stage I am going to go for a 290kw XR8 engine, unless someone talks me out of it.
