Nice.
One of my favs.
But those photos are very old. I recall it was for sale many years back with the same photos.
Deano, just up your budget a bit.

funny you say that my mrs just said if you like it buy it lol. as much as I want a cobra I want something with less pedigree and something im not afraid to take out and drive . I think I would just park that one in the garage and look at it in admiration .
im checking out a nice g force kit in Victoria atm just waiting for the engineering reports to rock up and see if they meet our road transports rules and crap . im a patient man the right car will turn up sooner than later :-)

Your wife sounds like a keeper!
FWIW and if I recall correctly it had an asking price of $150k when it was listed last time.
No idea what it actually sold for though.
I love that cross flow intake. Id offer $80 just to see if he'd bite, as for driving it... If your not racing it, and just cruising in it, how much harm can you do?
Look at me, spending your money and pushing you over budget. Lol.
Oh I have no shame...! Sorry.

I can assure you it still looks as good today as when it was first built.

Digby sold it and then bought it back a few years later!
Has a Barry Seton built engine and all the fruit. Scotty Hampson from Venom Custom has also done a lot of work to it.
Stout car rarely driven in anger.

Afternoon All
Ive been lurking on this site for a few months with the intention of building a Cobra.
Up until this morning, I had basically made my mind up to go with the Pace Cobra, but then this one pops up for sale.
Im based in Adelaide.......what are the collective thoughts of those in the know, what potential issues I would have with registering this one in SA?
Ive spoken to SA Motor reg and according to them as its built under the Low Volume Scheme and has a compliance plate, it would just be an "ID" check........BUT.......if the motor has been recently been rebuilt and presumably not in its original format when the car was originally built......will this cause complications getting it registered in SA?
Appreciate yr thoughts
Thanks
Eldo

Eldo, I'm pretty sure only the factory built Robnells were LVS. The rest still fall under ICV. I assume by your email and research this one is a LVS factory built car?
The car is lovely and its owner a genuine fella. I'm surprised he's selling it to be honest but he's got a stable of beautiful cars. Its had a lot of work done by Scotty Hampson so ring him also to find out more info if you need to know more after speaking to Digby.
All cobras require a measured approach however this one certainly has moreso the capacity to inflict a serious bite should you treat her with contempt. The engine is advance weaponry that requires caution but like all things it'll be your right foot not the power plant that'll cause the pain.
Great car. Different option to a AP Car but that's all in personal preference.
As to SA engineering can't help much but you have to be sure engine, TB inj, live pipes etc etc all stack up.
Hope that is of some help.

Eldo, I'm 'Adelaide based' too. Given the car's age, a lot can change in registration requirements and also this car's engine specs in the last 20 plus years since it was first registered. I would suggest speaking to a good compliance engineer who can advise you easily whether you're looking at an easy run or a minefield. Then you know what to expect.
Can recommend one if you want to do that.
Cheers,
Glen

Hi...thanks for the info..............the engine is my biggest concern..........will see what I can find out
I 'googled" Robnell and found a youtube clip for when the car was for sale in 2007 and there is a picture of a compliance plate saying "MANUFACTURED BY ROBNELL" so Im basing my assumption its an LVS on that.
Thanks

I can't see this lasting long?
This is an awesome car and the sound.....oh that glorious sound?
I was of the understanding that the robnells that were built have the LVS meaning that they are registable in each state similar to the coke cars. However this was just my understanding and I would suggest checking with tech standards in your state.
Seeing the car earlier this year, it looks bugger all different than the photos.
Someone soon is going to get a killer car here.

Eldo
I'd suggest that if it were built 20 years ago there's no way any transport officer is going to know if the engine has had a rebuild or is different to what it was registered with most of those guys are flat out knowing what happened last year and in any event if the engine fits the ADR for that period then I wouldn't imagine that they can legally give you any heartache.
Just my opinion.

This car was built originally by its private owner not the Robnell factory. I'd suggest ICV rules will apply. Check relevance and each states requirements.
Either way too cheap. I'd love to put that motor in my jalopy.
