I came across a few photos taken at the bottom of Conrod Straight, Bathurst in 1964 as the cars were going into Murray's Corner.

Wow Baz that is amazing what those guys did back in their days. Racing a car on skinny tyres with drum brakes and leaf springs on a goat track. Makes todays racing look very easy. Although we go a lot faster now so all relative I suppose. :-) cheers Gregg

Is that a dead roo on the grass on the inside of the corner?

The track/road sure has come a long way since those days.

Cool cars. Interesting to see the suspension angles to suit the cross ply tyres.

Yes Mike. You can see why so many were killed on this track in the early days. Speaking of suspension angles. Check out this Hillman Imp coming through the 'Esses'.
